Valerio The Jaguar

Valerio is a 160 pound, male Jaguar, who resides comfortably at the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans, Louisiana. One might say, he’s a celebrity of questionable reputation! Back when he was a mere 3 year old, he managed to exit his enclosure through what was described as “a very small hole” (he is a cat, after all), and went on a “snacking spree”. By the time Valerio was tranquilized, the zoo was bereft of six alpacas, three foxes, and an emu.
After a major enclosure renovation, and a root canal in 2024, Valerio is still holding court at the grand old age of ten (as of 2025).
